Phuket Beach Guide

Phuket manages to boast 25 main beaches, large, small, both on and off the beaten track - for an island which is only 48 kilometres long and 21 kilometers wide (with a total area of around 576 square kilometers) this is pretty amazing! Here we give you a taste of each one - hopefully when you book a villa holiday here or come to live you will have the chance to visit some, if not all of them and along the way perhaps discover some we don't even know about! It is almost guaranteed that you will find several which will cater to your own particular tastes, big and bustling with lots of watersports such as jet skiing, para sailing, kite surfing, kayaking down to secluded tropical paradises where you can just lie back and drink in the beauty Thailand has to offer.

Most you can drive to and park fairly easily, some need a little off-roading skills or hiking, others are only accessible by booking a longtail boat or private yacht. In 2014 the Thai military stepped in and among many changes they made they removed the multitude of touts who covered the bigger beaches with sunloungers and umbrellas and most of the ramshackle booths, bars & restaurants encroaching onto the sands, returning the beaches of Phuket to their natural splendour. So, whilst you may not be able to just raise your arm to be served a beer whilst soaking up the rays, you can now experience the natural tropical beauty of Thailand's largest Island as it should be. A local restaurant or bar is never more than a short walk away & you will probably relish the short break from the relentless sunshine!

Please be aware that during the rainy season (May to October) you should be cautious about swimming from the beaches as fierce currents and rip tides make it dangerous for even the strongest of swimmers. Some beaches are Lifeguard patrolled and you should take note of the flags flying.
